Memory

I'm going through the closet in the (soon-to-be) nursery today trying to fit all the girls' stuff into the closet in their room. I came across the sweatshirt that was in a baggie as 'extra clothes' in big girl's backpack last year in kindergarten. It brought back the sweetest memory!
Soon after we had gotten the girls I pulled through the car pool line to pick big girl up after school. I could see her scanning the cars pretty intensely and I noticed she had changed clothes sometime throughout the day (for a reason I don't really remember). When she got in the car she let me know that she had been really worried that I wouldn't know who she was when I came to get her because she had changed clothes.

Sweet girl. She's grown and changed so much this past year!

Bless her heart. The instability these children have in their lives causes such thoughts. How relieved she must have been when she saw you recognized her in her different clothes. Seems like such a little thing but these are the things that help them to attach to their new families. It's so rewarding to see them change over time. :)
