Today...fussy baby

Things started out well. Waking up at 5:30am to get everyone ready to go for Lilah's check-up actually proved to be quite beneficial. I felt well rested and had an hour and a half of uninterrupted time to do some things around the house. Score.
Got to the doctor on time (victory!) and learned that she has gone from 5lbs 13oz (at the last appt...4 days old) to 6lbs 12oz. Yay!

Then the heel stick for another PKU. She was not happy about that.

Then around lunch time she just couldn't get content. She's not a baby that cries often at all. Even at night when she wakes up she just grunts and flails about but boy did she make up for it today. I knew all that fussing was because of that darned PKU test. We called the nurse to see if/what dose of Tylenol we could give. Around 5:30pm the nurse called back with an okay for the Tylenol. So in between this is what we did (she did not want to be laid down so we were glued to the couch or the porch swing):

Big girl read to the baby from her book of prayers (and boy did we need them:):

The girls took turns taking pictures with my camera:

Little girl "called the nurse" on her cell phone:

We sang every song known to man on the back porch swing. I tried the baby bjorn so that I might actually be able to get some things done. No luck. BUT the girls had a grand time taking turns holding the baby and reading to her. They really are very helpful and sweet little things.
All of this on the first of daddy's five nights away. Thank goodness GG is coming to save the day!
At present, the Tylenol is on board and my sweet little angel baby is once again a sweet little angel. I do not look forward to the vaccinations that come with our next doctor's visit (at two months).

Note to self: Say a huge prayer of thanksgiving tonight for having a typically good and easy going baby.
