What an awesome trip! Disney was just as magical as it is supposed to be. We were fully prepared for melt downs or for the girls to be less excited than expected but we were pleasantly surprised. Every minute was so much fun! The girls were troopers! They got up early on our early days and stayed up late on the late ones. Our last night they were up until midnight (and then some...eastern time). The parades were always a highlight but just in general, they loved it (and so did we!). More than anything it was good bonding time for all of us.
We learned on the plane ride over that the girls have never been in a "big" swimming pool (and apparently the inflatable dino-pool at GG's just the week before had been a first). We learned quickly that our little girl could easily drown in a one-foot-deep baby pool. She thrashed around happily, falling face first when she got a little out of control (and out of our reach...being too quick to catch at times). She would come up coughing and gagging but laughing and running off for more fun. We were alarmed but delighted at how much fun she was having (she was truly kind of uncontrollable...but in a fun way...minus the possible drowning part).
The Magic Kingdom was wonderful. On our one late night we watched the firework show and I held my big girl in my lap and talked to her (again) about how you can have anything you wish for. Her wish...that our family could live at Disney World with Ella and GG. Errr...so maybe we should re-talk the whole "anything you wish for" thing.
Epcot...Not so much for their age group but hey, it's Disney. We ate with the princesses that night. The girls were star struck meeting Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, and Sleeping Beauty:) Not so fun part of the day: Carrying a SCREAMING little girl out of Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3D. Yikes!
Animal Kingdom: LOTS of fun. We had a long day here. Another yikes moment: Carrying a SCREAMING big girl out of A Bug's Life 3D. And yes, we got the point this time around.
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Short day in the park but LOVED the 'Fantasmic' firework show. A little scary at times for the little one but really cool.
I wish everyday was a holiday!
