Catching up...and forgetting

I have been REALLY bad about getting pictures developed since we got the girls. Today I picked up 163 photos from Wal-Mart. There's a start.
In those 163 were pictures from Gotcha Day. I showed one to little girl. She took it from my hand and touched her own face. She looked at me and then back at the picture and said, "I had boo-boo's on my face?"
Our conversation was brief. She had zero recollection. I was grateful. We left it at that.

My mom won't put those pictures in her albums. I understand. They can be really hard to see.

We've come a long way. I am so thankful that their minds are young. I'm also thankful for the way they have healed, the way they have blossomed. It truly is amazing how resilient children are.
