(JD) So I am not sure who said it, but its pretty darn close to an absolute fact that every guy begins learning the guitar so he can impress a girl. I can't really remember who or what the situation was when I was in fourth grade when I first wanted to play guitar, but I am certain there had to have been a girl involved. Anywho, I had this guitar in my closet for like the last 3 years. When I originally purchased it (about 8 years ago now) it was for $100 while I was en route to being a street musician (long story). Well, there it has sat until tonight when I decided to dig it out and see if instead of a bedtime story the girls and I might have a little sing along.
As it turns out the song "Sanctuary" seemed to be the best route to go. So...why did I decide to blog this? Basically, what probably started out as completely self serving and pursuant to trying to impress the ladies almost made me cry tonight as I heard the girls singing along with those amazing words. This was all underscored by the fact that as I was trying to explain to them what it meant to let the Lord "come into your heart like a Sanctuary" the older one pointed out that she had already done that. Its funny how things work out in the end.
"Lord prepare me
to be a Sanctuary
pure and Holy
tried and True
With thanksgiving
I'll be a living
Sanctuary
For You"

how beautiful!
I had tears in my coffee this morning as I read this. What you and Jessica are doing in the lives of these little girls is so amazing. It is so obvious that they are meant to be with the two of you!
