I met with Michelle from the Heart Gallery Alabama last month to discussing becoming involved on a volunteer basis with the organization. I was so impressed by her passion behind what she is doing! She invited me to a board meeting which was yesterday. We met at the Museum of Art with other board members and a few other volunteers (most are social workers and a few, including Michelle, adoptive parents). It was a good group to be introduced to. I'm really excited to get involved with the Heart Gallery. I think it is an incredible project and I truly believe in its ability to recruit adoptive and foster parents.
No updates for us. I'm still waiting to hear from our social worker to set up our last home visit. I am continually striving for patience which is always an uphill battle for me. If I feel like I know what's going on, I'm good. But times like now when I'm waiting on a phone call to tell me where we are or what to expect next, I get antsy.
At youth last night, one of our girls shared her favorite Bible verse with the group before worship. Romans 12:12 reads: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
How awesome is God! It was like a little sticky note had been left for me in a spot I wouldn't miss reminding me to be joyful, patient(!), faithful, and prayerful.
I'm trying:)
