Thankfulness

JD here. Having one of those moments (completely unrelated to adoption) when I remember that I don't just have a faith or a religion, but I genuinely Love God. It makes me laugh to think of how absurd my life will have been if the skeptic is right, but I am completely okay with it. Anywho, the day began with Mountain Biking, went to some down time with Jess, followed by cleaning with Jess(boo), then time with the family celebrating the giving brought on by remembering the birth of a certain historical figure. Finally this evening Jessica and I sat on the couch and talked about how different our next Christmas would be, and talking about how it was time for some very serious decisions. All of this ended with her going upstairs while I stayed and listened to these words by Chris Rice:

The moon is high and the sunset fades
The lullabies have all been sung
We're tucking in another day
The stars appear now one by one
But the stillness moves and the silence yields
And not a single beat is lost
You can hear the chorus in the fields
Taking up where we left off

And your praise goes on...

Everything I love about this world; nature, my family, Jessica, and most importantly our future children are a gift. The mere capacity to feel this love is a gift, and I am above all things thankful.

Jess and Jonathan - I am so excited for y'all! You two are such special people and this child will be incredibly blessed to be able to call you Mom and Dad. You and the "little one" have been, and will continue to be, in my prayers.
Love you both - Mandy

PS - Thank you so much for this blog, where we can share in your journey!!

There is a child out there somewhere who probably hasn't had a lot of positives in his or her life. But his luck is about to change.... he is about to hit the jackpot!!! He(or she) is about to have a loving forever home and a wonderful Mom and Dad who will teach him about love, family, unselfishness and about God. That child will become my grandchild and for that I am excited and thankful. My prayers and my love for you all.. GG
