Everyone has a Story

After finishing at Auburn I went to Atlantic City, New Jersey and worked at the Covenant House as part of an Americorps program. The program was faith based and each day the girls I lived with and myself would pray together. One of the girls there, Katie, had this thing she would say, "I am third." God first, others second, myself third. It caught on and kind of became our mantra. We had post-its and so on around the house that reminded us what number we were.
SO when I found the I Am Second website I was very intrigued. It's the same concept (just leaving out the 'others' part...God first, me second). There are many really awesome stories on there but this is one of my favorites:
Jason Castro

Hope you like it too!

I just found your blog. We are adopting through foster care as well, so I love reading about other families that have grown the same way ours has!

Wow! I did like him on American Idol...but, wow! Now I really like him. That was extremely moving. I'm about to have Reed watch it. Wow! Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you so much for your blog. I've been reading it for the past few weeks. I too am a Christian mother hoping to adopt from foster care soon. There are a lot of blogs that scare me, but yours gives me hope. I enjoyed the links you posted today and am sharing them with friends. I don't watch American Idol (gasp!), but I actually really liked Brian Welch's testimony - check it out!
