Updates

* Our adoption petition is filed and according to our attorney the court clerk is trying to get a hearing date at the beginning of June! F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! Are you all saying that with me:) We could not be more happy than to enter the summer as the legal parents to our big girls and new parents to a baby girl.

* I've started my new baylor position at work and have decided that THIS IS THE LIFE!!! I love it and can assure you that my husband and children are benefiting greatly from me working only two days a week.

* Big girl had her very first sleep-over last weekend! It was such a good time for her:) As always, I'm going to have to put in a comment about how big she is getting but it's true! Just tonight she sat at one end of the couch and me on the other reading our books. She's reading chapter books (her first one right now!). And all of a sudden she no longer has to read out loud...although she does like to read out loud to me the points she thinks are exiting, sad, or otherwise noteworthy. I love that she is loving to read! That's my kind of girl.

* Little girl is busy being little girl. She excels at school in a way that truly amazes me. Behavior at school is touch and go but lately we have many more good days than bad and that is such a blessing! I'm soaking up the last few months of her being the baby. I'm sad about that a little but I suppose that's normal. JD and I know it's gonna be hard for her to share my lap but there's always room in mama's lap, right? :) I just feel lucky to have the opportunity to love and snuggle and rock and "hold her like a baby" (as she says) while she is young enough to still want and need that.

* JD is a busy bee working at home and at the church. I think he's nesting with me! Plus he did an awesome job with the girls while I worked the weekend. He was in charge of taking pictures of the girls on Easter and while I did get some like this:
