This week

Dad: Is back today (safe and sound and tired) after a week long youth trip.

We say: PRAISE THE LORD! We have missed him!
Tonight I heard him listening to the video from THIS post. I asked him why. He says because it has become his goal to see that every orphan in our country gets adopted. I say that's a lofty but wonderful goal.

The children
I typically don't allow the girls to watch much tv. Maybe an hour on weekend mornings. But with summer and the new baby there has been a little more tv allowed by default. Any time an infomercial-type commercial comes on big girl calls me into the room (wide eyed and very excited) telling me how much we need whatever it is they are advertising. Usually it is cleaning products and she takes great effort in telling me why I should buy it...how much it will help me.
The big girls have spent the week outside with neighbors. They come in sweaty and dirty just the way kids should on summer days. They stay out until after dark (collecting fireflies).

Baby girl is loving her paci but not as much as I'm loving it. It turns her sweet from sassy is seconds flat in the evening. She's growing and changing all the time. I'm trying to hold tight to these days. She really is such a good baby. Despite the latest phase of evening tantrums that can last a few hours, she's such an easy baby. I'm sleeping 7-8 hours a night combined. She wakes up once or twice a night. We've been lucky thus far.

Kindness:
Most of all kindness from my mom. She came and spent the majority of the week with us while Jonathan was gone. Again, she did all our laundry and countless other chores. She helped bathe and feed the big girls at night while Lilah fussed and held my attention. She loved on Lilah while I took the girls to the pool THREE DAYS IN A ROW! Thank you so much GG!

Also, kindness from our church family for keeping the dinners coming while we were short a daddy. We had delicious meals all week. We thank you!

Firsts:
This makes me laugh. She's too small for it but liked it anyway. "Hello" she says through the arm hole:) (please excuse the flash that made for a horrible photo...you get the idea though):

Great to hear the update! Kate is fussy in the evenings, too. She doesn't sleep much in the afternoons and seems to want to eat every 2 hrs. However, a friend said this was her "storing up" for the nighttime; she, too will go 4 hrs + at night b/f we have to get up and eat. PTL! I'll take 6 or 7 hrs of sleep for sure!

She is not too small for the baby bjorn. You just have to fold down the top part and there is a place to hook the top straps. But my very favorite carrier for newborns is the Moby Wrap! God bless, beautiful girls!!
