Alaska Week

It was FABulous to have this week scheduled off but I was in constant conflict about spending time getting things done around the house vs. spending quality time with the girls. Monday was a family day as big girl was out of school and both Jonathan and I were off work. We went to try out the park where we will probably be having a birthday party next month. Fun-time kid stuff is a whole new area for Jonathan and myself. It's alot of fun to see what all is out there:)

Yesterday we went to Wednesday night supper at the church which is always a treat for the girls (and me...no cooking!). Today both girls went to school and I painted their room (pale green...just like cousin Ella's!). The play room is a wreck and their bedroom furniture is still all scooched in the middle of the room, but for the first time all week I feel like I am caught up (...or at least keeping my head above water).

We also had an ISP meeting today with our social worker and counselor. Our new court date is set for early June. So much earlier than I had anticipated! Let's all just hope and pray that the case actually goes to trial at that time! How awesome if the girls could be adopted in time for the next school year!!!

We are getting ready for Easter at our house! We have bought a little sign to put out by our mailbox so the easter bunny will be sure to find us. The girls have never had a visit from him, so we've been learning all about baskets, colored eggs, and pretty dresses. Fun!

Last of all, Jonathan and I have been noticing our words (also with our inflections) coming out of the girls mouths. "Perfect," they will say. And "Awesome!" It makes me laugh and also makes me very much aware of the things I say. Like when little girl said, "Putting makeup on Felix would be gross and "disgusting". I told her that wasn't a very nice word to use and then noticed that I said disgusting two different times that same night (and once the next day). Oops! I didn't even realize that was something I say?! Again, we're learning every single day:)

P.S. If I haven't talked to you in three weeks (say...if your name is Mandy or Jill, etc) please know that my goal for the coming week is to get in touch. I miss you and can't wait to catch up!
