Mother's Day

A wee bit early but happy mother's day nonetheless:) These are a few things the girls brought home from school today:

I love them! I especially love that big girl says all day long I "Tac cer uf the sic." (And yep, I also have black hair in this picture:) Her handwriting is so sweet I could just about cry. She is getting so big. They both are. Her kindergarten program was this week and they all cheered when her principal said they were ready for first grade. FIRST GRADE! And little girl in kindergarten next fall!
Just in the three months that they have been here they have grown! Then again, at the same time, it's the reverse. When they first came they seemed like such "big girls". Now that I've learned them I realize how young...how tiny...they are. It was a scramble at first. Now I have time to look at their chubby little hands and feet and recognize how fleeting this time is.
Every day brings challenges. Mothering is so much more wonderful and so much more challenging than I could have ever known. Every night (EVERY NIGHT) when I go to bed I wonder if I got it right that day and I pray to God to help me get it right the next day. I guess that's just what you do...take it a day at a time.
So many things are questionable in life. But THIS...being a mother...THIS is what I am supposed to do. THIS I know. I love being here. I love loving these girls. I love providing a safe and loving place for them. I love watching them sleep and hearing them laugh. It's good. This life is so good.

It's a sappy post. I'm allowed that on Mom's day, right?
