First Day

The girls are at school. Both girls went into their rooms, sat down at their desks, and began working on the sheets laid out for them. Easy as pie. I can't wait for them to get home to hear all about their day! I've kept myself busy but can't help wonder every few minutes what they are doing and how everything is going.

We got back from Gatlinburg this past Monday just in time for orientation and 'meet the teacher'. I was thrilled to learn that little girls teacher has in the past worked as a social worker, has been a foster parent and has fostered a TPR (termination of parental rights) case. It all fits together perfectly. Why am I surprised? God is so good.
Also the weekly visit swap has worked out so that it falls on a day that I typically work. Plus, we were able to enroll the girls in an after-school gymnastics program on another day I work. Thus, I have much more time with the girls than I had anticipated when I was having my tailspin a week ago.

I wonder when I will get it that things will always work themselves out? Isn't a deep breath, a word of prayer, and a little faith so much more healthy and productive than my typical stance as an anxious worry wart? :)

In this moment I am ever thankful for the patience I am shown by my Father in Heaven. How often he must roll His eyes and shake His head at me (if God were to do such a thing:). How often instead he gives me gentle reminders that things will fall into place everytime. Reminders that I should change my approach, have faith, TRUST. He is in charge.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34

What fun! I love the picture of them holding hands. You'll have to frame that one. Glad to hear they had a good first day. Love y'all.

That picture truly makes me cry. How precious they are... I wish that I could have been there but I will settle for the excitement that I heard in their little voices about their first day of school and the bus ride home. I miss you all and love you!!! GG
